Dualling Accounts

Posted by Clifford under Business

Many moons ago, some unscrupulous pinhead got my ATM and my pin number and went on a 7-11 shopping spree along the 95 freeway in Florida.  Yes, the bank replaced my stolen money but at great cost to my time.  I was the victim yet I had to be finger printed, swear out an affidavit, and go the police station.

With my corporate checking account, my account information is going out the door.  It has to.  I can’t accept credit cards unless the merchant knows my account information.  Apple can’t release my money unless they have my account information.  My ATM/Visa card: yep, linked to Account Two.  Actually a lot of companies are going to have access to my banking information.

Banker suggested setting up two checking accounts.  Checking account number 1 will be called the Operational Account.  Number 2 will be called the Online Account.  Checking Account Number Two will be the interface between my business and all of the other companies.  For instance, Apple transfers my sales to Account Number two.  I pay the corporate taxes using Account Number Two.  Visa/Master Card, etc payments are accepted into Account Number two.

Once money is transfer into Account Number two, it will then be moved directly into Account Number one.  No one will have Account Number One information.  All I have to do is make sure to access my account and transfer the funds.

If some spineless thief were to gain access to my banking information, they could only take what was in Account Number two.  Account Number one would remain untouched.

See the high speed diagram below if the above made no sense.

Since I already have a personal account with Wells Fargo, I can access and control all three accounts through the same portal.  That makes managing the accounts a lot easier.  With one click money can be transferred from the Online to the Operational account.

Sorry unscrupulous pinheads, go rob someone else.  I’m good.
