Elk Infestation

Who says television holds no educational value?

Watching Mythbusters a few weeks back, an episode was on regarding dog myths.  To my surprise, one technique to thwart a guard dog was utilizing fox pee.  For a while, it worked at keeping the attack dog at bay.

Then it hit me:  Eureka!  Maybe fox pee will keep Mr. Nichols at bay!

Lord Google explained that coyote or fox pee is an excellent deterrent to keeping unwanted pests off your property.  Just sprinkle or spray the coyote/fox pee around the perimeter and no more cats.  I did this however Mr. Nichols still broke through the perimeter.  After listening for the “jingle jingle jingle”, I discovered a secret passage where I thought the area was closed off.  This secret Batcave entrance allowed Mr. Nichols to come and go as he pleased, even though the yard was fenced off.

My yard now smells like a coyote preserve.  Bad.  But at least I’m not picking up poop.  Good.

Which makes me wonder: how do they harvest fox pee?

I’m envisioning stalls, much like at a dairy farm.  Machines hooked up to foxes hoo-ha, ready to go when nature calls.

As I’m reading the instructions, this one line jumped out at me:  Elk Repellent

Because we have a bad Elk Infestation in Long Beach, California.
