Positive Impact Policy

I am glad the web project got revisited.
In outlining the strategy with my mentor, the basics of what I was trying to do quickly became lost. Focus was given exclusively to the product with some after-thought given to the end user.
Wrong thinking.
In my personal life, my philosophy has always been consistent. If I do not have a positive impact on those around me then I shouldn’t be a part of their life. Unless my friends ask me to help them move. Then I tell them to stop being cheap and fork out the $300 for movers.
This “positive impact” philosophy carries over into other aspects of my life. This blog for instance. One of the core ideas of this blog was to share information, my experiences, and lessons learned with those who may consider following this path as well. Fortunately in cyberspace if this ever ceases to be positive people can stop reading at any moment.
The idea for the business was re-adjusted to follow this same belief. It has evolved to become a positive influence on the end user. Notice the word “customer” is not stated. The intent of the site is to be positive whether the end-user is just browsing, researching or purchasing.
Which I guess is what this Web 2.0 thing is really all about. It’s not about technology or new fandangled gadgets but rather about the people.
Beyond human factors, beyond user testing it is about being a positive influence and impact on those who you may come in contact with.
It’s all good.
