My Own Bucket List

Long before the movie was schedule to be released, I penned my own "Bucket List".

My list had a more immediate feel, whereas it was called "100 Things to do before I die".  Insert some drama there.

One item:  "Spend New Years Eve in Paris"

Cross that one off the list.

As can be imagined, spending New Years in New York or London would be complete chaos.  Anyone who has watched Dick Clark’s 137th New Years Eve ball drop can tell the streets of Time Square are akin to riot-central.

At the stroke of midnight, the response from the crowd was more like "We’re cool" rather than complete chaos.  Corks from champagne bottles sounded off.  Unlike Vegas, no champagne showers were to follow.  The people drank it, rather than waste it.

What made me laugh: the little frenchie entrepreneurs running around, selling bottles of champagne for those who forgot.  Yeah, I bet they paid their taxes on the profits alright.

The celebration most definitely was not just confined to the Eiffel Tower nor the Champs Elysses.  The metro is where the party was just starting (or ending) for nearly everyone.  What better designated driver than a public servant two minutes away from going on strike?  Drink all you want, sing all you want, barf all you want . . . oh yeah some drunk soul decorated the metro floor with their dinner.

Public Transportation: what can you do?

If you liked that post, then try these...
