Patrick, believe it or nuts that's how I bought the house. The same doorway leads to both the bedroom and the bathroom. However the bathroom does have it's own door. Changing it is not an option.

Is this a trend? I don't believe so. I think this is something indicative with these types of one bedroom houses. How much can we fit into a tiny space. At least the shower is in the bathroom and not the kitchen, unlike some places I've seen in NYC.

Speaking from SoCal, I believe women would be more impressed a guy had his own place versus having to have 3 or 4 roommates. :)

Benjamin, glad you like it! Share away!

Just a quick question in this comment about the layout. Was there a conscious decision made to only allow access to the bathroom from the bedroom? I ask because I recently saw a similar floor plan on a property I was considering purchasing and thought someone was lacking in the planning department (not to knock your floor plan. It looks good). Is this the new trend in single bedroom apartments? Has the need for a master suite surpassed the need for general access to the bathroom?

Maybe it is the person in me that likes to entertain (and need a place to still be sloppy) but having guests need to go through my bedroom to get to the restroom seems wrong. I'll admit that I tend to need a place to "dump" items when guests are approaching and the bedroom is usually that place.

On a separate note....it could be good for a single guy if he has a date over and she needs to use the restroom.....but I won't go there :)

Thanks for the mention. FYI You can change your general settings to Imperial at the "My account" tab. This should show all your plans in Feet & Inches.
