Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I’m not sure about the universe. - Albert Einstein.

Advertising started about a month ago.

Five phone calls have been received.  No one took any interest.

Standing in front of the house, I was cleaning windows.  Out of the blue, an SVU pulls up and deposits three people who want to see the house.  For the first time, they ask for an application to fill out.

And guess who didn’t have any applications?

This guy!

Of course, you got their fax numbers and e-mail addresses and the applications were waiting for them when they got home.

My long-time property managers always look at the car the potential renter arrives in. They have found a correlation between the condition of the car and the tenant quality. A clean and maintained car is what they look for.

Paty, you’re right. But once I get some color on the front of the house then it will really pop!

AI, you bet I got their phone number. I called them the next day and they said they would come by and get the application. They never showed.

    Oh well!

    Cliff,
I have SO been there! Another thing you could consider is setting up a web site with some info about your property management “company.”

Then put a link to a PDF document which is the application.

It works really well. The potential tenant can fill it out right on their computer and then print it, sign it & fax/deliver it.

What? No computer? NEXT! (is that wrong?) :)

Actually Bruce that is a very slick idea. I may have to consider doing that.
