Domo Arigato

Published by Clifford at 4:34 am under Housing

The Shenandoah computer, Mrs. Roboto, called me.  She asked me how I was doing.  At first, I wondered if the computer was actually waiting for a response.  Then she started babbling.

I guess she could care less.

The ordered cabinets are scheduled to be shipped on the 14th.  Mrs. Roboto told me the delivery company would contact me on that day to schedule delivery.

Mrs. Roboto wished me a good day.

My response, "Domo arigato, Mrs. Roboto, domo…domo"

Ten minutes later my phone rang again.  DeliveryGuy wanted to schedule a time.  He was a real person!

My response, "The sooner the better, domo…domo

The 16th.

Originally I was told it would be the 20th before DeliveryGuy would call.  Words of complaint did not exit my mouth but I was incredible hulk angry inside.  Usually a Twinkie brings me comfort . Not that day.

After talking with the local Lowe’s kitchen designer in Phoenix, I decided to go with the Shenandoah cabinets in the Maple Spice finish. Manufacturing/delivery time is two weeks less than the others and the factory is in Kingman. Repairs and replacements take one week or less compared to Kraftmaid, which takes three weeks. The standard kitchen unit of comparison is $1,897 vs. $2,311 for the Kraftmaid. Now I’m just waiting for the Lowes coupon that comes in the “thank you” package from the title company…
