Lowes Delivery Service
Posted on June 29, 2007 - Filed Under Business |
This is quite slick.
Perhaps to those who are "in the know" this is nothing new. For myself, I couldn’t be happier.
For $65, Lowes (or Home Depot) will deliver whatever is purchase directly to the work site. The limits, per LowesEmployee, don’t exist as to what can be delivered. If it is in the store, it can be delivered.
1 nail? Can do.
10 tons? Can do.
Hot Pizza? Well if you want to get your dinner from Lowes then maybe home improvement isn’t your biggest problem.
Of course there’s a lead time to be considered. One cannot order 50+ pieces of drywall at 10:00 a.m. and expect it to be delivered by 2 p.m.
This is something I wished I had known about sooner. Not only could the drywall had been delivered but all the toilets, sinks (bathroom and kitchen), shower fixtures blah blah blah. Provide and list and everything is brought.
All at once.
No multiple trips to the store.
No more playing contortionist behind my steering wheel: pushing my seat forward to make room for the toilet in the back seat.

Cliff,
As you know, I am a BIG fan of Lowe’s. Many times they even have mail-in rebates to offset the $65 delivery charge.
I recently purchased a new refrigerator for one of my rental houses and I think they offered the rebate in order to undercut a local (obnoxious) appliance reseller.
All in all, Lowe’s is the best bet for me.
Like you, I prefer Lowes to HD. The service is much better. However, HD has better cheap tile. Their ceiling fans are usually cheaper and the house brand of fan is built better. Home Depot also delivers at a competitive price, which is essential when you need a pallet of tile in 114 degree heat.
Delivery is a major plus… Although having that toilet handy in some of that So-Cal traffic could be a blessing… I have to laugh at that image…
Bruce, I’ve experienced the same when buying appliances. It didn’t even occur to me to try and negotiate that. Merde!
AI, I believe HD delivers for the same price or for a few pennies more. In the end, it just depends on whether you prefer Lowes or HD.
Matt, fortunately I don’t have 3 kids needing a toilet. So I’m alright.
Hey, Clifford, I bought three 20% off coupons for Lowe’s from eBay. I’d love to see how they work at my local store. It would be so awesome if I could get 20% off carpeting a big house!
I love the Lowes home delivery. It is only $65 and I was told the limit was to fill the truck. I think the truck is a 30ft plus.
The reason why I like lowes better than home depot is that any of the employees can add items to the delivery and you can go to any cashier to pay for it.
For Home Depot you have to go to the Speciality Services Desk. Always seems to be a long line at that desk.
