Who knew?

Reflection.
In the movie Titanic there is a scene I find fascinating, despite the fact the movie makes me violently ill. It is the scene in which financially challenged Jack Dawson is having dinner with some of the wealthiest, snobbiest elitists that society has to offer.
“I love waking up in the morning not knowing what’s gonna happen. Or who I’m gonna meet, where I’m gonna wind up. Just the other night I slept under a bridge. Now here I am on the grandest ship in the world having champagne with you fine people.”
When starting this path, my path, several people revealed that with risk comes uncertainty. There are no guarantees, no certain outcomes. This frightens some, inspires other.
I count myself among the latter.
This is appealing for my mantra has always been "Try something new; do something different." As the years pass by, embracing this philosophy has taken higher priority: encouraging it in others follows right behind. After all, one could argue "What good is the power of choice if you don’t choose to do something different?"
Some days, the unexpected occurs when a heater breaks. Or when a loan falls through. But more often than not, the chirp of my cell phone brings adventure.
"Congratulations! Your offer was accepted!" the RealEstate Agent said yesterday. A long-shot property suddenly was within reach. When faxing the offer, it never crossed my mind that I would actually get it. Yesterday what did cross my mind was "Who knew that this morning I would actually be buying more property?"
My heart lifted just a bit. Why? It will probably be a while before monotony returns. It is my turn to roll the dice to find out if I will win or if I will lose. For me, I’m just happy I’m able to roll the dice again.
Life has become once more another adventure.
Clear your schedule WonderWoman. We got work to do.

Schedule is clear, tool belt is on…
I say, BRING IT ON!
Congratulations! That’s great news. You’ll now have a place to live in Long Beach.
Does this property still look good after making the changes to your analysis model based on what you learned in Texas.
Love this post! It is true that when you are striving for financial freedom… when you are looking to earn money outside of the J.O.B. it does come with an element of the unknown.
It is amazing to me how many people are scared to make that leap. I remember when we were leaving the military. Most everyone else thought we were crazy for not re-enlisting. Same thing when my husband left his job at the police department.
I love the adventure!!!
Congratulations!!!
I can’t wait to hear the details on this one!
Engineer, I haven’t done an analysis on the property because I don’t know what the interest rate is going to be. The loan is in process.
ATW, thanks for the compliment! Tell a friend! You are correct. I wouldn’t trade this for anything.
Matt, details are coming!
Good to hear!! Excited to hear which one you finally decided on and how you made the choice.
Kick *ss! I’m glad to hear something better was waiting for you after the Texas debacle. Don’t know if you’re religious (I just say I’m spiritual), but there’s that saying about when God closes a door, he opens a window…or, something like that. Michael (fiance) reminds me of that anytime I lose a deal. He always says something annoyingly optimistic about an even bigger deal being around the corner! But, honestly, he’s always been right! Man, I hope he doesn’t read this. I don’t want to be caught saying he’s right!
Trisha, Michael won’t hear it from me.
Funny, my mentor said the say thing after my loss. He said I was on the verge of a big break-through. I guess this applies to those people who toil and labor, produce nothing and quit right when the big strike is about to occur.
I am a very spiritual person. As for religion, it does not allow me to enjoy champagne.
