Five Random Things
Posted on January 15, 2007 - Filed Under Personal |
So today, I’m going to cheat. A few weeks back, Trisha saw fit in her infinite wisdom to tag me with the "Five Things About Me" plague. Then that sneaky guy Ken tagged me. Technically this is 10 items altogether. However in practicing my French heritage, I’m going on strike and only posting five things.
And here we go: Five Random Things.
1. I have never had the chicken pox. My mom tried, unsuccessful, to infect me with this disease when every kid on my street had it. I never got sick. I wonder if I might carry the cure for the pox inside me. The world will never know. And if/when I have kids and if they get it, I’m checking into a hotel. I’m sorry "future wife" but you’ll be on your own.
2. I have 18 brothers and sisters. It’s too bad I can’t see your face as you read this. People’s reactions to that statement are priceless. Yes, there is a catch. With that being said, I have been an uncle since the day I was born. At age 15, the title of grand-uncle was bestowed upon me. As far as I know, I am not a great-grand-uncle but knowing my family that could easily change by the time I’m 40.
3. Family history is a passion of mine. I was pleasantly surprised to discover my family lived in the United States before the "United States" existed. Every major conflict, my family has been a part of it starting with the Revolutionary War. For me, having a sense of where I came from has always been important. Part of the reason why I study French.
4. I eat 5 times a day. No, I’m not a cow and I definitely don’t have 4 stomachs. It’s five small meals. I don’t like eating large meals, which makes Denny’s a "not so good an idea" for me. Starting at 6 a.m., I start pecking away and don’t stop until around 8 or 9 in the evening. I’ve been told by several people this is the reason why I’m so thin.
5. I jump out of perfectly good airplanes. I admit I haven’t done it in a while but the itch to jump is quite strong. If I can wax psychological for a second, this kind of fits my mentality. I sometimes may stall getting into something but once I jump, I go all in. The two houses I have now is a classic example.
It may, at times, be foolish or appear foolish but taking risks is something I enjoy doing.
I actually have my first sky-diving jump on video. If you’re interested I can get it posted here.
So in "Five Things" fashion, I tag The Spanglish Translator, WonderWoman, Super Dad Matt, that old Bean Moom.

Definately post the video! I was considering getting my copy transferred to the PC, but haven’t gotten around to it yet. If you already have it, then that will make it even easier…

Nu? What’s the catch?
I thought I was going to get away without doing this. I can’t remember what people know or don’t know about me.
Greg, you’re the only person to ask. I’m surprised! The catch is: they’re all half, steps and in-laws.
Moom, I’m sure your grey matter upstairs won’t fail you in this assignment.
Oh, those were really good! I would never have guessed any of them!
