in the saddle

Let me start off by saying Miami International Airport is the worst airport ever. Not only did I have to go through their security checkpoints twice BUT there’s no where in there to get a decent bite to eat.
Every place only had pre-wrapped sandwiches that were probably made fresh this month.
Don’t get me wrong. If I had eaten a decent meal on the aircraft, which is laughable in and of itself, then the pre-wrapped sandwiches wouldn’t have been half bad. But the airline meal choice was between chicken and mystery-meat. If it was beef or pork, I have no idea. And the service?
Flight Attendant: Would you like red or white wine?
Clifford: I’ll have some red wine. What do you have?
Flight Attendant: I have chardonnay or . . . . chardonnay.
Clifford: um . . .
Stepping off into LAX felt more like a "mission accomplished" rather than a "coming home".
And to bring it all to a head, I got sick. With my sinuses packed full, my head now has the density of a bowling ball; my throat is threatening to quit working; and my consciousness seems to last for 15 or 20 minutes before I pass out.
What’s that? The lady changed her mind? I now have no place to live.
Ugh.

Welcome back. I look forward to hear your story and see some pictures from your trip. Hope you will feel better.
Are you serious? She said you can’t live there anymore?
Yep and just like that too. The email actually came when I was just about to leave France. The timing was bad but in the end, I don’t mind. I’ll find another place.
I totally disagree. Chicago’s O’Hare is THE worst. We had to, yes, go through security twice. There weren’t places to eat OR restrooms. And, we had to stand in a 1 hour security line behind a Mongolian couple who reeked of dead tuna. Yep, that’s how it happened.
