Resting on laurels

With the arrival of the new tenant, a small level of stress has been alleviated. Regarding the front house, the other day I made the decision to not push it as a rental at this time. With my vacation coming, moving at the last minute was something I wanted to avoid.
The decision was made. A glance at the clock: 9:45 p.m. Time to call it a day.
My head hit the pillow, eyes closed. The bedsheets fell around me, the cold crisp night air filled my lungs. Yes, a good night’s sleep was coming on.
That is until that voice in the back of my head said, "You have two and a half weeks before your vacation. You’re playing it safe again."
That irritated me. Isn’t it always the case that at the end of the year you say to yourself, "I wish I could have done more"?
Here’s my chance.
So the ad has been rerun. The campaign continues.

Oh, yes, absolutely. In fact, I had this conversation with a couple different bloggers already tonight. It appears many people in our field must be thinking the same thing. And, last year was so productive, too! I actually had to dig my 2006 goal list out from under a mountain of papers I haven’t touched all year long. I’m ashamed to say it, but it is what it is. I’ve resolved to start a weekly “business meeting” for myself and Michael (fiance/partner) again. I think that may be the missing link. I work hard and try not to procrastinate–but, I think my efforts aren’t focused like they could be.
