Expectations

Last week saw some activity.
In speaking with my mentor, he said "Cliff, you need to set the expectations for those people working for you."
That’s where I goofed.
With this whole refi business, everyone was waiting for everyone else. The Real Estate Agent was waiting for the loan officer who was waiting for the appraiser who refused to do a "walk through" appraisal versus a drive-by. This caused paralysis and my inaction allowed it to continue longer than it should have.
At 9:04 a.m Monday morning. the Real Estate Agent’s phone was ringing.
"Whether or not the appraiser comes, I want the houses on the market by Wednesday."
The Real Estate Agent was fine with that. Come Wednesday, the houses were listed.
The next item asked for was a schedule. Open Houses are most certainly required and I’d like to have advance notice.
I’m just a demanding person!
