Where is Ralph’s?

It has been almost 3 months since I went grocery shopping.  This last weekend, Lowe’s gave me a great excuse to go.

Fridge

Complete with water spout (water not included) Lots of storage and blue tape.

The original refridgerator I ordered was scratched.  Fortunately Lowe’s employees have not taken customer service training with either Home Depot or the Cabinetman.  The salesmen called me right away, after having discovered the scratch.  After calling 5 other Lowe’s stores, he couldn’t find another refrigerator.  He asked me to come down, pick out a replacement and they’d give it to me for the same price.

Duh!  That’s a no brainer.  This fridge was $200 more but didn’t cost me an extra dime.

Now I know what you’re all asking.  What’s the story with Cabinetman?

I’m glad you asked.

A separate contract was required to get the granite done.  I was in his office and he asked me if I could pay the balance of what was owed on the kitchen.  This was necessary in order for him to proceed with the granite.

I found this mildly entertaining because he hasn’t finished with the kitchen.  From the photos above, you can see that none of the doors have been installed.  And I’m still missing my PENINSULA.  And last on the list, the installers have cracked some of the cabinets during the installation process.  That must be fixed as well.

A smile crept across my face and I responded that I would pay the deposit to get the granite started.  But the money I owe on the kitchen won’t be paid until he has finished, per our contract.

In the meantime, I have more important concerns.  For instance, what am I goingBaking_soda
to put in my new fridge?  I think I remember where the grocery store is.  All I have now is some baking soda . . .

Yeah for the Baking Soda!!! The first item to grace the fridge with its presence!

At least you have something to bake with… That’s a good start.

Now if you can only find a good Farmers Market nearby for some fresh veggies rather than the imported stuff from South America… Not that there’s anything wrong with that…

At least you ended up with a deal on a nicer fridge. Dealing with Cabinet Man seems to be a never ending head ache. I’m guessing future jobs with this guy is not in your future.

Thanks for your comment on my blog. There is nothing that someone has to invest in or trade or whatever. It is important to do what you are best at. Seems like you have put together a great team just like Kiyosaki recommends and you seem to enjoy the upgrading property etc. aspects. I don’t want to do all that stuff and don’t think I’m such a good team player :) but I really enjoy stock-trading/investing.

Welcome to the personal finance blogs! Yes, I’m a bit late but better late than never. I’m thinking I’m going to get back into stocks again within the next few months. I’ll be paying attention to your blog, that’s for sure. Take care, good luck and happy investing! - Clifford
