I’m happy to report that Cabinetman actually did something!  Let the music play!

These showed up on Friday.  Before the man left, he asked me if he could come back Saturday morning and install.  Probably around 7 a.m. he said.   This story doesn’t have a happy ending.

I called Cabinetman at 10 a.m.  His worker, as predicted, didn’t show up.  Many excuses were offered including the "World Cup".  In the middle of all this, I cut him short.

Since my return from vacation, the only question I’ve asked Cabinetman is when the installation date would be.  That’s it.  And for some reason, I’ve been given every excuse in the book when all I was looking for was an installation date.  Just tell me.  If you’re going to be late, that’s fine but you have to tell me.  Ignoring me just fuels my fire and makes me want to bug you more and more until you give me a straight answer.

If he can’t make a deadline, I’d rather he tell me.  But he thinks I’m fool if I’m going to let days go by and not take action.

This was the content of my conversation with him.  He, of course, apologized and said it won’t happen again.  But it’s happened so much already . . . how in the world am I suppose to believe him now?

At the end of our conversation, he asked me if I had picked out someone to do the countertops.  This nearly broke me.  I told him that he had already picked out the countertops and was suppose to install them.  He sounded a bit surprised by this.  Not a happy surprise like "Oh, more work and more money for me!" but more like a "Holy sh*t" type of surprise.

I am getting one small measure of satisfaction out of this.  Cabinetman was actually stupid enough to give me his cell phone number.  And guess where his number is on my speed dial?

If you liked that post, then try these...
