Walk the line

Posted on June 5, 2006 - Filed Under Housing |

All my frustration with Cabinetman came to an end last week.  I not only got verification he had taken the final measurements, but I also got a triple confirmed installation date.  June 8th.  Mark you calenders.

Something had changed with Cabinetman’s attitude.  I was unsure what.

I called the Real Estate Agent, to bring him up to speed on the progress of the house.  Of course, he asked about the cabinets and I gave him the installation date.  As a footnote, I added I thought something bizarre had transpired with Cabinetman.

"I did that," Real Estate Agent said.
"How’s that?" I asked.
"I explained to him that if he didn’t have time to get your job finished, how was he going to do the other three jobs I gave him?  So I told him that we were going to talk about getting you done right away or about me pulling the other three jobs I gave him."

There’s that evil part of me, wanting to jump up and down in delight.  I want to scream, "Yeah, that’s right!  Mess with me and you mess with my family!"

But why is it that such drastic measures have to be taken to get people to do what they are suppose to do?

I asked the Real Estate agent why he continued to do business with this flake.  His response:  "Because Cabinetman is the cheapest of the flakes."

What kind of endorsement is that for this industry?
