Odds and Ends
So it’s kudo’s time.
First: Thanks for the emails, regarding the black tar spots I left on Anne and Tony’s carpet. Yes, I was successful at getting those buggers out. Turpentine, dabbed on with some clean cloth, was used to dissolve the tar . . . which it did quite nicely. The next step was some super, industrial carpet cleaner. Not the stuff you get from Albertson’s or Ralphs but the Home Depot industrial carpet cleaner. The good stuff. After soaking the spot with that stuff, letting it set for a minute or so, the spot came right out! Anne and Tony didn’t even notice the spots.
Second: To the fans of the "Monkey Poetry Corner", thanks very much for the Home Depot gift card. I know I will definitely get some use out of it. And I’m sorry I haven’t written much lately. I’ll try to fix that.
Now on with the show.
I spoke with a landlord owner today. He has about 12 properties and has been doing this for almost 15 years. After I told him about the cash payout, he told me that was a very clever thing to do. When standing in front of the judge, if I explain that I followed all the proceedures AND I offered $500 cash to help with moving expenses, the judge will lean more in my favor. He told me that he has done the same thing with people in his buildings that were trouble. Nearly everyone took him up on his offer except one. And when the judge learned that he offered financial assistance to help the lady move, the judge ordered the lady to be vacated within a week.
I’m not looking forward to going to court and I’m hoping that I won’t have to. I’m remaining positive that things will go my way.
