Feelin’ Good

Today I’m feeling pretty good. Why? I’m glad you asked.
I was remembering that a few years back, I had developed a spreadsheet that showed the basics of what I would need to do to get into real estate. Based on figures that I had learned, I wanted to know what the start up costs would have been for getting into a piece of property. All I had to do was plug in the value of the property and within a split second the computer would spit out a number.
Then I would lean back in my chair and start wondering how I could get my hands on that much money. Of course I’d think about which family members I could borrow from and how much I could realistically get. Well, my family isn’t rich. I may be able to squeak a few thousand but I would be short by about a jillion dollars. I wouldn’t even consider borrowing from a friend because that would kill any friendships.
Eventually, I would kill the idea because I couldn’t find the money.
Now I’m proud of myself. Instead of trying to come up with the money and then do the deal, I’m doing the deal and then coming up with the money. And this has worked! When I told Carolina to put in my offer, I knew that I MUST come up with the rest of the money. This opened my mind to more possibilities than I had ever considered. Now i seem to have found the loan program that will get me into my first real estate property (soon to be investment property).
I’m quite proud of myself.
